Ellen Cordes lives in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania with her husband and their son. As a stay-at-home mom, Ellen has taken on a variety of community service oriented responsibilities and projects. With over fifteen years of experience working in the healthcare industry, she has witnessed the challenges that accompany illness and has seen many patients that could have benefited from an organization like The Kolbe Fund.
Ellen has worked as a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist in community and hospital settings, counseling patients on nutrition as it relates to their current medical challenges. Ellen has been a nutrition educator and lecturer for Penn Medicine conferences, support groups, physician offices, schools, and many other community organizations. Her job duties have included writing for publications, research, educational videos, and web sites.
Ellen is a certified Master Gardener and shares her expertise teaching first-graders about vegetable gardening on a weekly basis at St. Dorothy Catholic School in Drexel Hill, PA. As a Master Gardener, Ellen also provides gardening guidance and support for a local senior center garden. Formerly, Ellen volunteered in both Vice President and President positions for the Drexel Hill Chapter of MOMS Club International - a support group of 50 women and their families.
