Our Staff at The Kolbe Fund...
Ellen Cordes lives in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania with her husband and son. Originally a founding board member of The Kolbe Fund, Ellen has been an integral part of program establishment and development. When the first families received support, Ellen coordinated lodging assistance. As a board member, Ellen remained closely connected to the program and served as the Program Committee Chair. In April 2018, she was hired as the Program Manager. Ellen has almost 20 years of experience working in the healthcare industry as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, where she has witnessed the challenges that accompany illness. She is thrilled to be able to help children and their families in this new role.
During recent years, Ellen has been the founder and captain of an American Cancer Society running team, called Team Brightside. that has raised over $70,000 towards the fight against cancer and has grown her team to 37 members. Additionally, she received the Nancy Lavelle “Fighting Spirit” award from The American Cancer Society DetermiNation committee for her fundraising and team organization efforts. Ellen was also a past President and Vice President for the Drexel Hill Chapter of MOMS Club International,a support group of 50 women and their families. Ellen also oversees planning for The Kolbe Fund Rhythm and Brews annual fundraiser.
Jennifer O’Donnell grew up on Long Island, New York and later attended Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. There she studied in Austria, interned for a non-profit organization, and was a volunteer income tax preparer for low income families and individuals. After earning a Bachelor’s of science degree in accounting, with a minor in finance, she moved to the Delaware Valley and worked as an accountant for public and private companies.
Jen has been with the Kolbe Fund since 2013. She has also worked for the YMCA, volunteered as a reading tutor for a public school, and currently volunteers in various areas at SS. Philip and James School.
Jen is married, a mother of four, and lives in Exton, Pennsylvania.

Patrick Doyle lives in Jeffersonville, Pennsylvania with his wife Cassandra, and two sons, Patrick Jr. and Jack. Patrick is the Chief Operating Officer of Forerunner Holdings Corporation, a healthcare and pharmaceutical software company. Prior to working with Forerunner Holdings Corporation, Mr. Doyle was a senior executive for a leading healthcare organization for 30 years in the metropolitan Philadelphia area where he held multiple leadership roles within the organization before assuming the role of COO.
Patrick has served on the board of directors for numerous non-profit and civic organizations. Patrick brings to the Kolbe Fund his expertise in scaling organizations during growth periods, strategic planning, fundraising and capital campaigns. He has helped nonprofits from a variety of vantage points, including President, Director, Executive Director, Treasurer, consultant, founder, incubator, lobbyist, teacher, trainer, and volunteer.

Joe Pellerite brings significant financial knowledge to The Kolbe Fund. In his current role at accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly, he focuses on supporting buyers and sellers of middle-market companies with financial due diligence as they prepare for M&A transactions. In addition, his experience includes other aspects of financial management providing outsourced controller/CFO services to publicly-traded and privately-held companies in various industries.
Joe is a lifelong Philadelphia resident, a dedicated professional, and viewed as a trusted advisor that has been serving the business community for over 10 years.
Tamara Grimm, Esq. Secretary
Tamara is an Associate Attorney at O'Hagan Law with a focus on General and Professional Liability. She earned
her Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University, followed by a Master’s degree in Public Administration
from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School. In her role as an attorney, Tamara has worked with hospitals, social service nonprofits and government entities that aid women and children. Prior to serving on the board of directors for The Kolbe Fund, Tamara volunteered with fundraising and awareness for the March of Dimes and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tamara has been nominated to join the 2015 MS Leaders Circle.
Tamara lives in West Chester, PA with her husband and young daughter. As a parent, she has a deep commitment to her community and helping those who lack the resources to adequately care for a sick child.
Recognizing their own challenges caring for their son who is the survivor of a rare pituitary tumor, Kate and her husband Aaron founded The Kolbe Fund. Kate served as a Volunteer Executive Director for more than three years. During her tenure, she established efficient operational procedures, recruited productive and committed board members, and raised almost $300,000 to support families that travel to obtain the best pediatric care.
Prior to her move to Thailand in 2017, Kate was a member of 100 Women Who Care Chester County, The Philadelphia Femfessionals and The Bizzy Mamas. In 2016, Kate was the recipient of the Power Woman Award from the Main Line Times and she was designated as a Philadelphia Woman on the Move. In 2015, Kate received the Main Line Parent Community Builder Award. Before founding Kolbe, Kate worked for 12 years as a human resources consultant specializing in compensation. She is a certified Math teacher who has taught middle school, high school and college.
Kelly Blumenthal is a stay at home mother to two boys in Fredericksburg, Va. Finn, age three was born with complex heart disease and is treated at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During his second open heart surgery this past year, The Kolbe Fund stepped in to find housing for her family after the blessing of an early discharge. She immediately became passionate about the mission of The Kolbe Fund in hopes of one day helping other families in the same situation as hers.
Besides staying busy caring for Mason (age 4) and Finn (age 3), Kelly stays actively involved in various fundraisers and awareness campaigns as a therapeutic way to give back to those who have helped her and her family through their journey.
She has a Bachelors Degree from Barton College, has studied abroad in England, Ireland, Wales and France and worked in the transportation logistics field for several years before staying home with her boys.
Alisa Cavanaughis an educator currently working with children aged 5-15 in the world of Fiber Arts. Alisa received her Masters in Education from Cabrini University. She has experience working with children of all ages. She has over 15 years experience tutoring students. She also served as the staff mentor for the high school volunteer club. Helping kids achieve their goal has been Alisa's mission since getting out of college. It's the joy in a child's face that Alisa strives to see everyday.
Alisa lives with her husband and two children, Annastasia and Lucas, in Newtown Square. After Annastasia received
a diagnosis of a rare genetic disorder, Alisa struggled to find parents who understood the overwhelming feeling of helplessness when faced with a looming diagnosis. After creating her own support system, she knows how vital it
is to support parents during those challenging moments. She wants to help parents so that they can focus on their child instead of the worries of daily life.
Alisa is a volunteer at heart and is looking forward to getting back to volunteering and helping more children and their families through The Kolbe Fund.
Jaime Lynn Curley
A former exhausted retailer turned energetic networking mompreneur, she is passionate about giving people choices of nutrition, wellness and time freedom. After discovering her own success in finding the right balance in mind, body and career, Jaime Lynn now coaches and mentors her team to do the same. As the founder of The Tailor Made Life, she believes balance is the key to having it all. Gratefully Jaime Lynn realized with the time freedom to design her days her way, she can now give back to others in a more meaningful way.
Jaime Lynn Curley lives in Downingtown with her husband Matt and three daughters, Sophia, Malania and Sadie. She fell in love with helping children when she decided to personally fundraise for Make-A-Wish while training for the Dublin Marathon in 2004. She continued to volunteer and donate to many non-profits in the years to come. Within the last two years, Jaime Lynn developed a strong sense of devotion to helping families as she witnessed three friends lose their young children to brain cancer. This experience gave her a deep understanding for how much families require support, love and the absolute best medical assistance. One family at a time.
